Join us in June to explore how a just transition can be embedded into business strategies.
Connect with Nordic business leaders and changemakers at the 6th Nordic Meeting, hosted by the Nordic UN Global Compact Country Networks. This two-day event tackles one of the most urgent challenges of our time: the climate crisis. The conference emphasizes how the impact is not gender neutral and disproportionately affects the most vulnerable people groups – and highlights the role businesses must play in creating a just, inclusive transition.
Through high-level plenaries and interactive workshops, the Nordic Meeting 2025 will dive into key themes such as achieving a just net-zero transition, meaningful stakeholder engagement, and navigating the evolving regulatory landscape. Join us in June 2025 in shaping actionable solutions for a fairer and more sustainable world!
The event is open for Nordic UN Global Compact participants. Please note that there is a limited number of seats available, and submitting an application does not guarantee selection. In our selections, we aim to ensure an even representation of business participants across all Nordics.

Workshop 1: Creating Ambitious And Just Climate Transition Plans
A just transition is about ensuring that no one is left behind in the shift towards a net-zero economy. This approach relies on equitable processes that include social dialogue, stakeholder engagement, and adherence to fundamental labour and human rights.
To this end, the EU is requiring companies to create climate transition plans, aligned with the global 1.5 °C pathway. These plans should balance social, economic, and environmental factors to transform climate ambitions into concrete actions and build stakeholder trust.
This workshop aims to take a deep dive into climate transition plans and address questions such as: What are the steps to creating a credible climate transition plan? How do we ensure integration of human rights, gender, and social equity considerations in climate transition plans? What are the potential conflicts between climate and human rights considerations?
Workshop 2: Ensuring Meaningful Stakeholder Engagement for a Just Transition
In the shift towards a net-zero economy, engaging workers, affected communities, and other key stakeholders is essential for a fair and inclusive transition. This workshop explores how businesses can take a human-centered approach and integrate stakeholder voices into their climate action, fostering meaningful dialogue and collaboration.
Guided by the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights (UNGPs), the workshop will examine best practices for implementing stakeholder engagement as part of due diligence efforts. Participants will explore strategies for addressing social risks and ensuring transparency in decision-making.
Through interactive peer exchange, real-world case studies, and expert insights, participants will gain practical tools to navigate stakeholder dynamics, build trust, and drive positive impact. By embedding meaningful engagement into their strategies, businesses can enhance resilience, strengthen relationships, and contribute to a just transition that benefits both people and the planet.
Workshop 3: Integrating Due Diligence to Build Sustainable Supply Chains
Due diligence is an iterative process by which companies identify and assess potential and actual human rights and environmental impacts, take measures to prevent, mitigate or cease negative impacts, track effectiveness of measures, and communicate how impacts are being addressed.
Due diligence — as outlined in the internationally agreed guidelines on responsible business conduct — is a key element in company risk management. Despite current uncertainties in the EU regulatory climate, due diligence remains essential. By integrating robust due diligence mechanisms into company procurement-related functions, companies can create more sustainable and resilient supply chains that support just transition.
This workshop focuses on integrating due diligence into the development and management of sustainable supply chains. We will explore practical strategies and tackle challenging key issues throughout the due diligence process. Through expert insights, company examples, and peer exchange, participants will explore topics, such as integrating risks into procurement and contracts, compliance, data management, and effective grievance mechanisms.
